When a premier global financial services institution set out to establish a massive technology and operations hub in Chennai, the scale of the ambition required meticulous engineering. Spanning 225,000 square feet across nine floors, the facility needed to support more than 4,000 employees across 135 distinct collaboration spaces. The blueprint encompassed standard meeting rooms, divisible training spaces, high-end executive suites, open townhall areas, a large amphitheatre, dynamic reception displays, and a centralized audiovisual command and monitoring environment.
To deliver this USD 2.8 million transformation across three distinct project phases between late 2025 and May 2026, the institution partnered with COLCOM, the GPA team in India. The primary mandate was to standardize Zoom collaboration across every floor, simplify daily room operations for thousands of staff members, centralize system monitoring, and implement intelligent energy management across the entire corporate real estate footprint.
Deploying an enterprise audiovisual ecosystem across nine floors poses major operational and infrastructure risks if not planned to the millimeter. For facility managers and IT leaders, rolling out 135 networked spaces simultaneously carries the constant risk of operational complexity, inconsistent user workflows, and heavy strain on the corporate network. Without a unified architecture for AV over IP, IPTV, and digital signage, switch power loads and bandwidth bottlenecks can easily paralyze daily communications.
Beyond the digital infrastructure, the physical building restrictions introduced a major engineering roadblock. The campus was executed within a property managed by a strict commercial building owner, which mandated that the exact weight loads and dimensions of every single wall-mounted device be formally submitted and approved before installation. The centerpiece of the grand reception lobby was designed to be a towering, portrait-oriented active LED video wall framed by floor-to-ceiling marble. However, the sheer weight of this massive display exceeded the structural load limits approved by the building owner, threatening to halt the lobby’s visual centerpiece before installation could even begin.
To overcome these structural and digital hurdles, the engineering team architected a standardized, network-integrated audiovisual ecosystem designed for effortless scalability and visual impact. Rather than compromising on the lobby design, the team engineered a hidden structural support system behind the wall to safely bear the load of the portrait LED canvas. Across the nine floors, every collaboration room and divisible training space was equipped with intuitive user interfaces, dual and single display configurations, and acoustic treatments tailored for clear hybrid communication.
Key Deliverables:
- Grand Reception Portrait LED: A towering active LED video wall custom-mounted in portrait orientation via a concealed structural support frame to meet strict building load limits.
- 135 Standardized Collaboration Spaces: Nine floors of Zoom-enabled meeting rooms, executive boardrooms, and flexible divisible training rooms engineered for frictionless user operation.
- Inclusive Amphitheater and Townhall Hubs: Large-scale presentation spaces featuring stage displays, tiered seating, and Listen Technologies RF assistive listening transmitters and ear-level receivers.
- Enterprise Network Integration: Campus-wide AV over IP, IPTV, and digital signage seamlessly routed across the client’s network with balanced switch power distribution.
- Centralized AV Command Center: A dedicated monitoring and control room providing real-time visibility, fault management, and automated energy management across all nine floors.
Inclusivity and centralized visibility formed the twin pillars of the technical design. In large gathering spaces like the tiered amphitheater, the team integrated specialized radio frequency assistive listening technology, ensuring every employee and visitor can participate fully regardless of hearing ability. Behind the scenes, all 135 spaces were tied into a central command environment, allowing technical staff to monitor system health, distribute enterprise content, and manage power consumption from a single pane of glass.
Project Execution:
Executing a deployment of this magnitude across three tight phases required intense, multi-party coordination. Resolving the reception LED weight challenge demanded seamless collaboration between the display manufacturer, the GPA India engineering team, the client, the project management consultancy JLL, and the building owner DLF. By constructing an independent structural frame behind the finished wall surface, the team safely distributed the heavy payload without violating lease compliance or sacrificing architectural aesthetics.
At the same time, the team worked closely with the client’s internal IT department well in advance to map the network infrastructure and calculate PoE power load distributions across the network switches for the AV over IP and digital signage endpoints. Because the financial institution maintained an existing global programming agreement with Extron, the local integration engineers coordinated directly with Extron’s programming specialists. This close partnership ensured that the complex divisible training rooms and multi-purpose spaces functioned according to exact global corporate standards.
Completed on schedule in May 2026, the Chennai campus now delivers a cohesive, high-performance collaborative experience for more than 4,000 employees. The standardization of room workflows across all 135 spaces has eliminated user friction, driving rapid technology adoption and boosting daily workplace productivity.
From an operational standpoint, the centralized monitoring architecture has transformed how the facility is managed. IT and facilities teams now have immediate visibility into room status, enabling proactive fault management and rapid issue resolution before meetings are disrupted. Furthermore, intelligent power management protocols automatically power down idle equipment across the nine floors, directly supporting corporate sustainability goals by reducing overall energy consumption.
True enterprise value isn’t achieved at project handover; it is proven through the thousands of meetings, town halls, and training sessions that follow. In an environment spanning nine floors and 135 rooms, reliable day-to-day operational support is essential to ensure the technology investment continues to deliver for the people using it.
To guarantee flawless business-as-usual performance, all complex spaces are actively managed through the centralized control room staffed with an embedded specialist from the GPA India team. By transitioning seamlessly from system integrator to an active operational partner, the team ensures that executives hosting global townhalls, trainers running divisible workshops, and employees joining daily hybrid calls experience zero technical anxiety. If your organization is planning a large-scale campus transformation that demands global consistency, structural ingenuity, and dedicated operational support, our global teams are ready to bring your vision to life.
